The position is responsible for general office business within the department.

• Procedure related to timekeeping, budget control, MIMS and general office business; compiling statistical information; calculating data, typing, processing and preparing reports, forms and statements; performing generally comparable and related tasks.
• Obtain and prepare reports, summaries, recapitulations and distribution of prices, credits and expenditures; prepare special reports relative to material, labor and service charges of accounts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must be able to type straight copy at the rate of 60 words per minute and have knowledge of computer software to include spreadsheet applications. Must exercise judgment and responsibility in carrying out established procedures and instructions. Must have agreeable personality and ability to deal with people. Must be capable of performing assigned duties with accuracy and speed consistent with practical standards, and with a minimum of instruction and supervision. Must have the initiative to recognize, investigate and report facts concerning inconsistencies and irregularities in work performed. Must have a satisfactory work record and satisfactory completion of qualifying examinations.
Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and material of light weight (5-10 pounds).
Work is performed in usual office conditions with rare exposure to disagreeable environmental factors.
High school graduate or the equivalent in training, experience, and ability; proficient in business English and Mathematics; specialized training and at least six years of experience in general office practice.
