Under the direction of manager of marketing, the primary responsibility for the role will be Web UI/UX designer and graphic artist. Projects include web and mobile design, digital presentations, live webcasting, and other interactive initiatives. The incumbent serves as a liaison between Public Affairs and the NFTA IT department and will help support the goals of website improvement and continued user satisfaction.

The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position. • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with managers, developers, and other stakeholders. • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps. • Design all aspects of graphical user interface elements (e.g. navigation, menus, buttons, widgets) • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look. • Create original graphic designs for web and mobile (e.g. images, sketches and tables) • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders. • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness, ADA compliance) • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback. • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors, images, and accessibility (e.g. WACG, Section 508 Compliance)


Working knowledge of modern design software and technologies, including but not limited to HTML5, CSS2, PHP, .NET Core, JavaScript, Bootstrap, AngularJS. Understanding of multimedia hardware and applications, including but not limited to Webcams, microphones, projectors, and other related equipment. Experience using Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other related graphic art software preferred. Experience developing in integrated development environments (IDE) like Visual Studio, PHPStorm, NetBeans preferred. Experience using version control and code repositories; like GitHub, preferred. Must be a strong, clear communicator with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Tasks involve the intermittent performance of physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and /or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 lbs.).


Some tasks are performed in a shop environment, where heightened awareness of surroundings and observance of established safety precautions is essential to avoid injuries or accidents. Some tasks are performed in an environment with potential for intermittent exposure to disagreeable elements. Tasks include working around moving parts, equipment, carts, and materials handling where physical risks are predictable, controllable by observance of standard safety precautions.


• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Web design, Computer Science, or a related field and 2-4 years current experience; or 8 years relevant experience as Web designer/graphic artist. • Excellent communicator who works well in a team environment. • Comprehension of user interface design patterns and standard user-centered design methodologies. • Exceptional design skills, production value, and attention to detail
