WORK OBJECTIVE:

Under the supervision of the Manager of Equal Employment Opportunity/Diversity Development, performs routine to moderately complex administrative support work according to established procedures, departmental guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work. Work includes coordination of schedules, calendars, projects, and programs of the Equal Employment Opportunity/Diversity Development Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position. • Maintain confidential DBE files. • Assist with EEO / Title VI investigations as required, including maintaining files. • Serve as initial contact for DBE inquiries. • Compose and prepare letters, research, analyze and prepare data as requested, compile statistical reports. • Provide administrative support for the department, inventory and ordering of supplies, process requisitions, review and distribute mail. • Maintain appointment schedule for the Manager and coordinate meetings and appointments. • Assist with DBE programs. • Serves as back up to ADA EEO Administrator/EEO Program coordinator. • Assist the EEO Manager with investigating employee complaints regarding harassment and discrimination • Perform other related duties as requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Knowledge of business practices and procedures. Knowledge of Business English and spelling. Ability to perform filing, posting, and other administrative work. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public. Must possess strong administrative skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel to plan and organize activities, work independently and effectively under deadline pressure. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed in usual office conditions with rare exposure to disagreeable environmental factors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

An Associate’s degree in Business and two years of appropriate administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Passing qualifying skills tests may be required.
